Ten Senses Africa

Ours is a story that shares the Premium Quality Products from the thousands of smallholders of East Africa to high Value Markets.

Our Story

Ten Senses Africa Ltd (TSA) was founded in 2006 with a clear and compelling mission: to safeguard the livelihoods of Kenyan macadamia farmers who were being exploited by unscrupulous brokers and middlemen. At a time when smallholder farmers were receiving unfair prices for their hard-earned produce, TSA emerged as a beacon of hope — committed to ensuring that growers could access fair and transparent markets.

Rooted in the principles of organic farming, fair trade, and ethical business practices, TSA set out to build a sustainable social enterprise that would not only benefit farmers but also create a resilient and equitable value chain for agricultural products originating from East Africa. The company’s business model goes beyond profit, focusing instead on people and the planet by promoting sustainability, traceability, and long-term economic empowerment.

Today, Ten Senses Africa partners with over 12,000 smallholder farmers located in the fertile regions surrounding Mount Kenya. This collaboration is enabled through an advanced out-grower management system — a digital platform that streamlines the sourcing process, ensures full traceability of produce, and facilitates direct transactions between the company and individual farmers. By eliminating the need for intermediaries, TSA ensures that more of the value goes directly to the producers, improving their income and livelihoods while maintaining high standards of transparency and product integrity.

Through this integrated approach, Ten Senses Africa continues to lead the way in redefining how agricultural value chains in Africa can operate — with fairness, accountability, and sustainability at their core.
